Gunners Hit Quarter While Reds Bounceback


Gameweek Ten saw a sacking at the bottom of the table while the usual suspects returned to the top three.

Seagulls Soar Past Lacklustre Leeds


Brighton & Hove Albion eased to a 3-0 win at the AMEX Stadium over Leeds United with an early opener from Danny Welbeck inside 11 minutes as finished off a cross. The lead became 2-0 on 64 minutes as Diego Gomez struck a six minute brace, firstly collecting a back-heeled pass to tap in before rounding off the 3-0 win in the 70th minute from close range. 

Gunners Glory Against Clarets


Arsenal maintained their gap at the top with a 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor. The opener came on 14 minutes as Viktor Gyokeres headed in and the lead became 2-0 with Declan Ricef firing in the 35th minute and the two goals proved to be enough to extend the Gunners unbeaten run. 

Eagles Elated In Beating Bees


Crystal Palace returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Brentford at Selhurst Park. The Eagles opened the scoring on the half hour mark as Jean-Philippe Mateta swept in a superb header before they were gifted a second as Nathan Collins unfortunately headed a long throw into his own net on 52 minutes for a 2-0 final score. 

Cottagers Extend Wolves Woes


Fulham eased to a 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Craven Cottage and the result led to the sacking of Wolves manager Vitor Pereira. The hosts when ahead inside nine minutes as Ryan Sessegnon raced towards goal and slotted in for 1-0 and the visitors' afternoon got worse as Emmanuel Agbadou was sent off on 36 minutes. The hosts lead doubled on 62 minutes as Harry Wilson fired in superbly from just outside the area and the win was wrapped up by an own goal from Yerson Mosquera on 75 minutes for a 3-0 victory.


Forest Held By Red Devils 

Nottingham Forest had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the City Ground. The visitors went ahead on 34 minutes as Casemiro headed in before Morgan Gibbs-White curled a header to level on 48 minutes.  Forest completed the turnaround as Nicolo Savona tapped in from close range just two minutes later but their joy was soured as Amad Diallo secured a point for United with a stunning volley from outside the area on  81 minutes for a 2-2 final score.

Blues Buoyant At Spurs

Chelsea secured a narrow 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the mid-evening game. The crucial strike came in the 34th minute as Moises Caicedo capitalised on a defensive error to setup Joao Pedro who struck for 1-0 and the narrow win. 


Reds Bounce Back Against Villa
 

Liverpool finally returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Anfield in the late evening game. The Reds opened the scoring just before the interval as Mohamed Salah capitalised on a poor clearance from Emiliano Martinez to fire into the empty net for 1-0 before Ryan Gravenberch wrapped up the win with a powerful effort from the edge of the area just before the hour mark for a 2-0 success. 

Hammers Hurrah Halts Newcastle 

West Ham United secured a first home win of the season on Sunday with a 3-1 win over Newcastle United at London Stadium. The Magpies made a rapid as Jacob Murphy swept in an effort inside four minutes for a 1-0 lead that lasted until 35 minutes when Lucas Paqueta superbly levelled from long rangeNewcastle gifted their hosts the lead as Sven Botman unfortunately tapped a cross into his own goal just before the interval and the win was wrapped up deep in added time as Tomas Soucek benefitted from a clever counter attack for 3-1.'


City Cruise Past Cherries 

Manchester City moved into second after a 3-1 over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium. The hosts opened the scoring as Erling Haaland collected an aerial pass to race towards goal and slot in for 1-0 on 17 minutes but the visitors drew level on 25 minutes as Tyler Adams tapped in after in the chaos from a corner. Haaland doubled his tally on 33 minutes though as he rounded Djordje Petrovic and hit into the empty net for 2-1. The win was wrapped up on the hour mark as Nico O'Reilly fired in for 3-1 from close range. 

Black Cats Deny Toffees

The final game of the weekend saw Sunderland secure a 1-1 draw with Everton at the Stadium of Light on Monday evening. The visitors went ahead with a curling effort from Iliman Ndiaye on 14 minutes but the hosts did well to maintain their unbeaten home record as Granit Xhaka rifled in from the edge of the area to level in the 46th minutes and the sides shared the points in the 1-1 draw.
