Gunners Shoot To The Summit

Game week Seven saw a new name at the top of the table and also was a good week to be a home fan with seven out of ten games being home wins.

Cherries Comeback Stuns Cottagers

Friday night saw Bournemouth continue their good start with a 3-1 comeback win over Fulham at the Vitality Stadium. An even game saw the sides level at 0-0 until the 70th minute when Ryan Sessegnon put the visitors ahead and they looked to be on for the win. However, the hosts hit back twice in five minutes with Antoine Semenyo / Justin Kluivert making it 2-1 with efforts in the 78th and 84th minutes. The joy for the Cherries extended further in added time as Semenyo struck his second to wrap up the 3-1 win.

Spurs End Leeds Home Streak

Tottenham Hotspur became the first team to go away with all three points at Elland Road in over a year as they sealed a 2-1 win over Leeds United.  The visitors opened the scoring with a deflected effort from Matthys Tel on 23 minutes before Noah Okafor levelled for the hosts on 34 minutes. The crucial strike came just before the hour mark as Mohammed Kudus struck his first goal for Spurs to make it 2-1 which is how the match ended.

Gunners Glory Against Blunt Hammers

Arsenal rose to the top of the league after a 2-0 win over West Ham United at Emirates Stadium. Former Hammers hero Declan Rice opened the scoring with a 38th minute effort to give the Gunners a 1-0 lead into the interval. The lead became 2-0 on 67 minutes as Bukayo Saka slotted in a penalty and wrapped up the victory.

Home Joy For United

The hosts struck an early opener as Mason Mount tapped in after eight minutes for 1-0 and they were 2-0 to the good on 31 minutes as Benjamin Sesko made it two goals in two games for United as they climbed up the table.

Last Gasp Blues Stun Reds

Liverpool's added time curse struck again as they lost out 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues opened the scoring with a long range effort from Moises Caicedo in the 14th minute which was levelled in the 63rd minute by Cody Gakpo. Both sides pushed for a winner and alike their last visit to London, Liverpool suffered in the final seconds as Estevao fired into seal the 2-1 victory.

Villa Win Battle Of The Clarets

Aston Villa boosted their mixed start to the season with a 2-1 win over Burnley at Villa Park on Sunday. The hosts struck first as Donyell Malen opened his account for the season in the 25th minute before doubling his and Villa's tally on 63 minutes with a superb effort for 2-0. The visitors cut the gap to 2-1 on 78 minutes through Lesley Ugochukwu but it proved to be only consolation as Villa held on for the win.

Toffees End Eagles Streak

Crystal Palace's unbeaten start to the season came to an end at the Hill Dickenson Stadium with a 2-1 defeat to Everton. The Eagles opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a powerful strike from Daniel Munoz before Iliman Ndiaye levelled with a 76th minute penalty. The winning goal came three minutes into added time as Jack Grealish slotted in from close range for a 2-1 final score.

Magpies Extend Forest Woes

Newcastle United capped off a bad week for Nottingham Forest with a 2-0 win at St James's Park. A close first half saw the sides remain goalless into the interval and the deadlock was broken just before the hour mark through Bruno Guimaraes and the win was wrapped up in the 84th minute as Nick Woltemade slotted in a penalty for 2-0.

Winless Wolves Held By Seagulls

Wolverhampton Wanderers search for a first win of the season continues after they were denied in a 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at Molineux. The hosts were gifted the lead on 21 minutes thanks to a Bart Verbruggen own goal and looked on the way to a rare win but their hopes were dashed with just four minutes left of the 90 by a leveller from Jan Paul van Hecke to seal the 1-1 draw.

City Sting The Bees

The final game of the weekend saw Manchester City secure a narrow 1-0 win over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. The crucial strike came inside nine minutes as Erling Haaland slotted in for 1-0 which was enough to secure the three points.
